The Avery Theater is a replica of Shakespeare's Globe Theater. It departs from the original floor plan in that it opens to outdoor seating accommodating an audience of 2,000 or more. Avery Theater will, over time, develop a wide range of theatrical and other performing arts programs. Innovation, quality, and risk-taking is the hallmark, building enduring traditions is the goal, and allowing the audience to step back in time to a place devoid of modern distractions where The Play IS the Thing is the point.
The Avery Theater is in the process of finalizing a partnership with a local nonprofit performing arts organization to take the lead in developing exciting new programming and to manage the Theatre on a long-term basis.
